In order to distribute your music with Tone Temple, there are 3 things you need to check:
1) Audio Files
2) Artwork
3) Metadata
We only accept WAV files, 44.1 – 88.2 – 96 kHz, 16 – 24 bit.
Many shops, including Apple Music (iTunes) and Spotify, have very strict policies on artwork they will accept to be sold or streamed from their site. If your artwork does not meet their standards, we will be unable to distribute your release. To ensure your release complies, be sure to follow the guidelines, below.
We do not accept:
In order to deliver your music to the platforms, we need you to list the artists performing in your release and the contributors.
This not a cover version but a MASHUP.
PLEASE NOTE: We won’t be able to distribute your Mashup unless you properly cleared all parts! Please send us all relevant documents.
We issue UPCs and ISRC codes for FREE. We also offer the ability for you to use your own codes if you have them. It’s important to keep your ISRC codes consistent if you are moving your music to Tone Temple from another distributor.
All the albums and video albums registered on Tone Temple are delivered worldwide in every country the digital platforms support.
Please note that you are able to choose a specific territory for your album. You can leave worldwide selected or select only the territories you’d like to distribute your album to.
We aren’t able to provide an exact timeframe for how long your release will take to be fully approved, but we’ll review things as quickly as possible.
To help us pass your release as smoothly and as quickly as possible, make sure you follow all of the metadata, artwork and title guidelines laid out by your chosen stores.
If you’re in urgent need of assistance regarding an upcoming release, please reach out to support@tonetemplemusic.com
As soon as your release (Album/EP/Video/Single) is published, it’ll go into our approval queue to be analyzed by our approval team that can do one of the following:
Once approved, your release goes to the platforms publishing queue. These are the official deadlines that the main platforms adhere to:
It’s vital that you plan your release in advance so that our distribution team can meet your timeline. We suggest that you schedule the release date with at least 3 weeks lead-time. That way, you’ll have time to fix possible edits from our team.
If you want to edit your release after it’s been sent to stores, you can contact us and we will update it for you as long as it’s not one of the following changes:
Add or Remove Tracks
Change track order
Change the main artist name or artist role from Featured to Primary
Special cases whereby resolving ISRC conflicts on labelcamp does not work
If you’d like to make any of the above changes, make a note of your original ISRC codes take down the release and follow these steps to re-upload it with the edits you’d like.
There is a balance in your Tone Temple account where you can request a payout. You can request this at any time you want, when you have balance. It normally takes only a few working days for the money to arrive in your bank / PayPal / Wise account.
You can expect to start receiving your generated royalties around 2-3 months after a release has gone live.
If you decide to make a custom deal with us instead of purchasing a subscription plan, Tone Temple takes a percentage of your streaming revenue. This percentage is discussed with the artist before signing the contract and can be changed depending on the career level of each artist.
The commission that we take covers the distribution and website maintaining costs.
You can initiate the pay-out of your money through the dashboard. Your money will be transfered to you via bank transfer or PayPal. In order to guarantee a smooth transfer, it is important that you enter any required information correctly, especially the email address connected to your PayPal account.
We’ll add your royalties straight into your account as soon as we receive them from stores.
The time taken for payments to reach your account depends on which bank you are with, so please allow 3-5 days for your withdrawals to show.
Yes! You can automatically split and pay royalties to anyone who deserves a piece of the action by setting up Royalty Splits.
You may notice that the number of streams or views shown on different platforms doesn’t always match the royalties you’ve received. Here are a few reasons why this might happen:
1. Royalties vs. streaming data
The royalties Tone Temple pays you are based on actual sales data, which can differ from the streaming figures displayed on platforms like Spotify and YouTube.
2. Delayed reporting
Some stores can also take 3-4 months to report sales data. We’ll update your royalty balance as soon as we receive this.
Remember: Analytics tools like Spotify for Artists and YouTube for Artists are designed to help you understand your audience and track your music’s performance in real time, but they don’t directly reflect your actual sales or royalties.
We have had many artists switching to Tone Temple. It’s super simple to move your catalogue from one distributor to another. All you need is the original mastered audio files and artwork. Once you’ve got a date in mind for the transfer, contact our support team who can guide you through it.
Yes, you can!
We offer a non-exclusive agreement, meaning that you are free to work with other aggregators, services, or labels while also working with Tone Temple Music!
